Abstract

It is a matter of fact that today’s world is facing many socio-political and religious challenges. One of the swear challenges faced by Muslims in the current scenario is Ridicules of Islam. The phenomenon of Ridicules of Islam is not a novel trend. Islam, its figures, and teachings have been ridiculed since its advent. The trend has only changed its shapes with passage of time and space. In the modern ages, various forms, and philosophies of the contempt of Islam have sprang with attractive and seductive names. It’s assumes that secularism has now become a serious challenge ideologically and morally for different civilizations especially Muslim societies. Secular brains use all possible and available means and tools for ridicule and contemptuous mockery of different aspects of Islam using print, electronic, and social media. In this context, this study will explore the questions that; what are the basic reasons to ridicule Islam with refrence to secularism? What are the effects of Ridicules of Islam in the world and what are its possible solution in existing legal Framework? The Analytical Research Methodolgy with Qualitative paradigm has been used to reach the conclusion. The study finds that soft secular laws and infinite right to Freedom of Expression provide a base for ridicule of religion, especially Islam on international level. Therefore, it is suggested legal, ethical, and ideological mechanisms to confront challenges posed by secularism.
